Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't had much of a chance to update this. It's been just about a year since my last post on here. I would like to update the site to where I currently am.
In late August of last year, LDRS 34 was announced and would be in Potter, NY. Since I had never been to a major launch event, I decided to go. I planned originally to make 4 rockets for LDRS but only ended up building 2 for it. The first is my own personal 7.5" rocket named "Rejected Reality". When loaded, Rejected Reality weighs about 25 lbs and is about 7 feet tall. It is composed of LOC Precision 7.5" tubing as well as their nosecone. I made the centering rings and all the bulkheads. The build can be seen at this link. There is a period where I did not update the thread because it just got so tedious so please forgive me. Here is the completed rocket.

That rocket never flew at LDRS because it rained all days I was there except one and I had another flight to finish.
The second rocket I built for LDRS was "Our Children's Future"(OCF). OCF is a massive 16 ft. tall, 9 in. diameter, and weighs a little over 100 lbs. loaded. OCF was a collaboration between myself, 3 other teens from various places on the east coast, and our mentor Jim Scarpine. The build for OCF can be seen here. Here is a group picture of everyone before we transported her out to the pad/

This project was a massive undertaking but it was fun at the same time. Unfortunately, while arming the electronics prior to flight, 3 of OCF's charges blew on the pad. We determined that wind as well as an altimeter programming error caused this incident.
Thankfully everyone was okay but it was obvious that we couldn't fly it like that. The blast caused our lower rail button to rip out as well as caused a split in one of the fins when it was slammed into the blast deflector.
While we were inspecting the rocket at our prep site, the fourth charge blew even though the altimeters were switched off. We determined that this was because the impact after the first incident snapped my altimeter and caused a temporary short when we were inspecting the rocket. Everyone was again okay but we were definitely shaken up by the back to back incidents. After we calmed down, we decided that we would fix the damage and try again for a successful flight using different altimeters and smaller charges since the first charges were way too over energetic.
Our second flight attempt will be on August 22nd in Geneseo, NY with MARS. The flight will be on a M3500 to about 3500 ft coincidentally.
I will also try to fly Rejected Reality again on the 22nd.
That's most of the updates I have for you. Below you will find a gallery of pictures from LDRS. Even though I only flew two flights and only attended one day, it was still a great event and it was well organised. I'm hoping to attend URRF next year!

Man, uploading that many pictures took forever...
I'll do my best to get better at updating this. Hopefully....
